Thai Chamber of Commerce delegation explores Cambodian investment opportunities

A group of Thai Chamber of Commerce delegates has been visiting Cambodia to seek investment opportunities. During the important visit, the delegation also paid a courtesy call and received information from Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce.


In a meeting at the Ministry of Commerce on August 15, Sorasak extended a warm welcome to the Thai Chamber of Commerce who came to Cambodia and especially to the Ministry of Commerce.


“Cambodia has enjoyed strong economic growth in recent years and emerged as a high-growth economy, attracting a large number of investors from around the world, especially China, Japan and Korea, United States, United Kingdom, ASEAN Member States and Thailand ” he said.



Sorasak welcomed the Thai Chamber of Commerce delegation to explore business opportunities in Cambodia. He said the meeting would provide a good opportunity to exchange views on mutually beneficial business and investment opportunities to promote trade and investment between the two countries.


Voratat Tantimongkolsuk, Representative of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, informed the Minister of Commerce that the Thai Chamber of Commerce delegation is currently visiting Cambodia to learn more about trade, investment potential and find business partners in Cambodia.


Voratat added that, the delegation will visit Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone, Koh Kong Province and Sihanoukville to learn about business opportunities, invest and find business partners. In addition, the Thai Investment Council has been cooperating well with the Council for the Development of Cambodia to help and promote investment between the two countries.


Speaking at the meeting, minister Sorasak said Cambodia signs bilateral free trade agreements with China, Korea, UAE, attracting Thai businessmen for tax benefits and investment opportunities. Cambodia offers long-term growth opportunities in various sectors due to strategic location, labour force, youth, energy, GSP access, and bilateral free trade agreements.


The Minister also said that Cambodia is ready to welcome Thai businessmen to invest in Cambodia for mutual benefit. Once again, Cambodia is committed to further strengthening and expanding friendly relations and cooperation in all fields between the two countries.
